10 years ago today, at Survivor Series in Montreal Canada, Bret Hart was screwed out of his WWF title by Vince McMahon (who got a black eye and a broken ankle for his troubles). It remains one of the most controversial and influential moments in pro wrestling history. As predicted right here, Chris Masters as been released and will no doubt get snapped right up by TNA. Woah, not even they are that stupid. Ever since Lashley broke the masterlock, he’s had nothing going for him in WWE. It is perhaps no coincidence that his release coincides with CNN’s Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling which looked at the steroid and drug culture in WWE. It’s interesting to note that since the wellness policy was brought into effect two years ago, over 60 people have been given warnings and 30 people suspended. Have any of you seen this show? In a blatant attempt to drag the ratings back up, Raw had DX for one night only and Stone Cold Steve Austin to beat down Santino Marella. WWE has a regular feature called the Power 25 where they detail the top 25 wrestlers in the company based on victories, quality of opponents and momentum (or so they claim).
