More information is coming out about who the suspended WWE wrestlers actually are. Due to the upcoming South African tour, Smackdown and ECW got taped on Saturday along with a big Terre Haute house show and Raw will get taped tonight. It must be difficult being CM Punk. You are over with the fans which is something of a rarity for ECW, so they use him on every title match they have. Imagine looking at the card for the upcoming Unforgiven PPV. Would John Morrison vs Tommy Dreamer, The Miz, Big Daddy V or even Boogeyman sell it for you? Somehow I doubt it. The crowd goes dead enough as it is when there is an ECW match without man boobs flapping about. I can understand that Punk has to earn his dues but they could have booked this Morrison feud so much better. By the third title match you would have expected this feud to have really escalated. Punk’s position is rather similar to Batista over on Smackdown. They clearly have no intention of giving him the title, but because he is the only top face on the show, they have to put him in the title picture everytime. Now that Rey Mysterio is back they can use him instead to get squashed by Khali. Conveniently, we fans have short memories when it comes to WWE (the writers like to think so anyways). When Punk does finally win, all his previous losses against Morrison (who to be fair is getting better every week) will quickly be forgotten.
This may or may not be a regular feature depending on your thoughts. In it I explain how I would book a certain wrestler. It could be quite sensible or it could be a bit mad, that’s half the fun., please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. Anyways,l et’s start things off nice and simple with CM Punk winning the ECW title. How this will happen is a very tricky issue because he isn’t a Smackdown/Raw regular and they are the only ones who seem to win the ECW title or get shots at it (rumour is Mysterio will be the next champ?). Imagine for a moment that this whole Originals vs New Breed storyline is still going and Punk has got on the wrong side of Burke and co. The title has been vacated by Lashley who won it back off McMahon but he got beat down by Umaga after the match so that takes him out of the picture. Read the rest »
